We also offer a service where we can advise companies about the staff they require for a software project, and will indeed help in the interview process. After all, it can be very difficult to assess the ability of an interviewee if you do not have the prerequisite skills yourself.

1. Precisely what changed from your last release to the current release?
2. If a serious defect is found in your current release, can you regress all the latest changes?
3. If all your files were wiped could you recreate the live build you did yesterday (confidently)?
4. Are you reliant on a particular member of staff and is the code properly documented?
5. Do you continually assess the quality of your software?

Software quality doesn't just happen. You have to make it happen.
